Earlier in the day, someone reminded me that we have a little over 3 months to the end of this year. What?!! 3 months? That’s 1, 2, 3 months. The year has almost come to an end. Where did the time go?
I had a number of things planned for this year. I’ve accomplished some of them already, some are work in progress and some got overtaken by events. It’s been quite a tough year, but you know what they say ‘when the going gets tough, the tough get going’. So we can check ourselves again and find out if we are numbered among the tough.
There are people who have been overwhelmed by fear and uncertainty because of the troubles in our world but I know without a doubt that there are those who have stayed their course in spite of the troubles. Irrespective of the group you may fall in, I have this to say “We’re still here”! And as long as we’re still here, there’s still hope! Anything can happen.
So, let’s bring out a clean slate and call this moment a new beginning. Let’s forget the disappointments and failures of the past. It’s a new day, a new season. Let’s name this season. What we call it is what it will be… Let’s call it a season of speed, of triumph, of accomplishments, of grace…. Let’s call it a season of net breaking and boat sinking draughts – a season of excessive returns on investments. Let’s call it a season of love, of peace, and a season of restoration. Ahhhh…. Restoration.
Let’s see. What needs to be restored around here? Which project needs a revival? Which business needs reinforcement? Which dream needs to be taken off the shelf, dusted and re-pursued? I read that we probably have more potential than we could exhaust in a hundred lifetimes. What are we doing with all that? Let’s get our act together, put on our gear and ‘blast off’- as my kids put it.
The world is waiting. Our future is waiting. What will we be celebrating with our friends and loved ones when the countdown to the New Year begins? Excuses? NOOOOOOOOOOOO. Certainly not. Victories! Victories! Yes! Victories.
I’m going to define my victories. Will you do the same?
